The “Produce to Grow” program helps low-income families living in remote communities across the Comayagua Department to manage their own small animal projects to reduce food insecurity. These families benefit directly from better nutrition and increased income through the sale of animals and their by-products in local markets. Each family has an obligation to “pass on the blessing” of a pig, chicken, fish or honey bees to help another family in need.
