Adopt a Village: When One Community Transforms Its Own Future and Chooses to Help Another

The story of Ojo de Agua shows how community-led development can create lasting change. With the support of Proyecto Aldea Global and Hillspring Church, the community improved access to water, housing, sanitation, education, and electricity while strengthening families’ skills and economic opportunities.

Through initiatives such as egg production, sewing workshops, and livelihood training, families increased their capacity to improve their own well-being. The impact went beyond Ojo de Agua when community members chose to share their experience and support another community facing similar challenges.

Today, Ojo de Agua demonstrates how one community’s transformation can inspire and support the development of another.

40 Years In Honduras - Documentary

It’s been forty years since Proyecto Aldea Global (PAG - Project Global Village) began developing its first projects in the Yure River basin in 1982 with the implementation of literacy, community health, child survival and agricultural development projects. What began as a small group of workers with great ideas and dedicated to finding sustainable solutions to alleviate extreme poverty in rural communities in Honduras, today it has become a school of learning that continues to provide us with very valuable lessons.
